Rooted in History
July 3 – St. Thomas Day
July 3 is traditionally observed as St. Thomas Day, marking the martyrdom of St. Thomas the Apostle — who arrived on India’s shores in AD 52 and martyred in Chennai in AD 72. Indian Christian Day is observed on this same date, commemorating that legacy while celebrating nearly 2,000 years of Lord Jesus Christ’s presence in India and the contributions of His followers to the nation.
